TSU-008 Highlights of Uganda in 8 days, 7 nights)!


Trip highlights: Launch trips on the Nile & Kazinga Channel and game drives in Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth and Kibale Forest NP. Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest.

Day one: Kampala - Masindi (Murchison Falls NP)

Drive to Murchison Falls NP north of Kampala arriving in the afternoon with lunch en route Masindi. Drive to the top of the Murchison falls and take great photos against the crashing sound of water against the rocks, watch birds and then proceed to your lodge. Dinner & overnight at Paraa Safari lodge or Red Chilli Rest camp.

Day Two:

Get up for an early morning game drive after breakfast in the rich ecosystem of tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes, savanna vegetation and volcanic craters home to incredibly large numbers of wildlife providing an excellent opportunity to see lion, leopard, giant forest hog, cape buffalo, elephants, defassa water buck, Uganda kob, topi and bush buck. Return to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon you will take a 3 hour boat ride on the River Nile with plenty of crocodiles, water birds, hippo in view to the bottom of the water falls. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day Three:Kibale Forest NP

Early this morning drive to Kibale National Park via Kagadi with packed lunch reaching Kibale in the afternoon. Check in at Mountains of the moon hotel or Chimpanzee guest house. You will relax and then have a trip down to Bigodi swamp for an eco-tourism experience initiated by the community. Return to the lodge or hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day Four: Chimp Trekking

Early this morning after breakfast you will go chimp trekking and experience the many similarities and habits these primates share with human beings. Return to the lodge for lunch and then proceed to Queen Elizabeth National park. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge, Katara lodge or Albertine Rift Camp.

Day Five: Game viewing

Early this morning take a game drive through this vast park in search for rare wild animals. Plenty of water bucks, Uganda Kob, antelope, herds of elephant and lions that you will be able to get close enough and personal with….. Return to the lodge lunch as you prepare for your boat ride on two lakes.

After lunch drive down to the pier and board the launch cruise for a boat ride on the lakes Edward and George. Plenty of elephants bathing, hippos puffing, crocodiles and birds on this boat ride. A great photography opportunity this does provide. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day Six: Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Impenetrable forest

Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable forest via the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth NP. Check into Buhoma community camp or Buhoma lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma.

Day Seven:Gorilla Tracking

Hike the Bwindi forest in search of the huge rare mountain gorillas and spend half the day experiencing their habituation. The forest is also home to over 300 bird species and while you track the gorillas watch over your head for the beautiful bird life above.

Return for lunch n the afternoon and then take a village walk in Buhoma to see the eco-tourism initiatives and the positive impact your visit will leave among the people of Buhoma. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day Eight: Bwindi to Kampala (12hours drive):

Return to Kampala and straight to the airport for your flight back.

Includes the following: All ground transportation, a full time driver guide and his associated expenses, all park entrance fees, permits, meals and accommodation, plenty of mineral water all activities as per the itinerary i.e. game drives, boat trips, accommodation.
