Useful Safari information
It is very possible to book a safari in Uganda from anywhere in the world. You may need to know this first:

* Always book your safari through a safari company to arrange your tour of interest.

* Most tour companies arrange airport transfer services so once you arrive at Entebbe airport have a brief meet and greet and straight to your hotel or start your safari.

* Transport is entirely arranged by the tour operators. It is not advisable to drive yourself on safari unless you know your well around the country well. Transport forms the biggest cost of most safaris. The best way to mitigate this high cost is by having a group tour with a minimum of 4 to 8 people. This spreads the cost across and lowers the cost per person making it fun and affordable. The terrain in most parts of Uganda’s countryside requires a tough 4WD especially during the rainy seasons. This should be a consideration before you book your safari.

* Direct booking with lodges and hotels is also possible through the internet although it is advisable to book through a tour operator because they get better rates because of contract arrangements.

* Drinks of any kind (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) are not provided on any safari but most companies provide complimentary mineral water on the safaris.

* Few tour operators accept credit card payments with most preferring wire transfer into their bank accounts. It is advisable always to make a deposit first and request for an electronic receipt or evidence of payment like a scanned copy of a receipt or gorilla permit. Insist on paying in two installments 60% at booking and 40% on arrival usually works fine.
