The most famous wildlife here includes the Roth child's giraffe, lions, elephants, buffalo, waterbucks, crocodiles, hippo and over 450 bird species. The Murchison Falls is also one of Uganda's finest spectacles where the Nile squeezes through a 7metre wide opening to crash thunderously 63metres down below. Queen Elizabeth National Park:Queen Elizabeth NP in Uganda has been glorified for having one of the highest biodiversity of any game park or reserve in Africa. The history of the park has it that as early as 1925, the number of elephants was more than that of the villagers and as such destroying crops and property.Queen Elizabeth NP lies in the western rift valley and is home to several herds of elephant, prides of lion, plenty of birds, waterbucks, crocodiles, hippo and home to the tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector of the park. The various habitats within Queen Elizabeth NP include savannah to wetlands, riverine and lowland forest. Two lakes George and Edward occupy 250 sq kms separated by the Kazinga Channel. A 23km peninsular runs from the main road to the park headquarters at Mweya. A safari to Queen Elizabeth NP offers plenty of game viewing, boat ride on the Kazinga channel, chimpanzee trekking at Kyambura Gorge (optional), nature walks and amazing photography for professionals and novices alike. White water rafting:East Africa's only grade 5 rafting happens only in Jinja an old colonial town of Uganda and which harbors the source of the River Nile.This high adrenaline activity provides a more thrilling excitement than a roller coaster ride but no mechanics involved.
